Commission on the Status of Women side-event: NCDs, UHC, and Empowering Women
Ahead of the first UN High-Level Meeting on universal health coverage, this side event in the margins of CSW63 provides an opportunity to highlight how access to a broad range of public services, sustainable infrastructure, and social protection schemes can help achieve gender equality and empower women and girls, with a focus on non-communicable diseases, injuries and universal health coverage as a means of reducing inequalities and empowering women and girls. The George Institute is co-sponsoring this event alongside the Permanent Mission of Uruguay, the Permanent Mission of Thailand, the World Health Organization, NCD Alliance, and the Women & NCDs Taskforce.
