Evidence2Policy lecture
The George Institute for Global Health, India is organising the second evidence2policy lecture at Hotel Park on December 20. This time, the lecture is being delivered by Dr Rajani Ved, Director, National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC).
Started in 2018, the E2p lecture is an annual lecture designed to bridge the gap between evidence and policy and is delivered by an eminent academic/policy expert. Last year, Prof Ian Jacobs, Vice-Chancellor, UNSW Sydney delivered the lecture on the “evidence base for cervical and ovarian cancers”.
This year, Dr Rajani Ved will be focussing on health reforms in India through the Ayushman Bharat program. Her topic is therefore aptly titled: “Evidence to Policy: Lessons learnt from India’s National Health Mission”. As director of the National Health Systems Resource Centre, she has been at the forefront of providing technical inputs to designing a comprehensive primary health care roll-out in the country.
Prof Randeep Gulelria, Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences will be the Chief Guest and the Australian High Commissioner to India, Harinder Kaur Sidhu, will be the guest of honor.
Dr Ved’s lecture will be followed by a panel discussion on “Changing Paradigm of Heath Care in India”. Those who will be participating in the panel include Prof Gita Sen, Dr Shankar Prinja; Dr Abraham Joseph; Dr Shirshendu Mukherjee and Dr Rama Baru.
