Early diagnosis and prevention system (EDPS)

The aim of this project is to develop, implement and evaluate an innovative strategy designed to increase the use of evidence-based guidelines for the management of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in primary care settings in India.

Method

Patients attending three Government health care providers in Bangalore for routine healthcare management were screened for cardiovascular diseases using a paper based CVD screening and management protocol integrated with the EDPS tool. This EDPS tool provided recommendations for the management of individuals with cardiovascular disease with low-cost, evidence based therapies.
