Injury surveillance in India
The purpose of this activity is to review the system of injury surveillance in India and make appropriate recommendations.
Objectives
- To assess the pattern and trend of injuries (Road traffic Injuries, Burns, Falls and Drowning) across all ages
- Review effectiveness and scope of the existing system of injury surveillance at national and sub-national level
- Develop and test tools and instruments to enhance injury surveillance at national and sub-national levels
- Examine the extent of utilization of surveillance information for intervention by concerned authorities
