Eden Barrett is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), Conjoint Lecturer at UNSW and Research Fellow at The George Institute within the Food Policy division. She has a comprehensive research background in the areas of nutritional epidemiology, cardiovascular disease, tobacco control, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health; and expertise in development and application of nutrient composition data. Eden received her PhD from the University of Wollongong in 2020 for her work evaluating the role of dietary fibre in the cardio-metabolic health benefits of whole grains. She also holds a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Wollongong (First Class Honours).
Eden has a major interest in research underpinning impactful, equity-focused preventive health policy and practice, to support health improvements at the population-level.
