Adam is an Intensivist who currently serves as Senior Staff Specialist, Head of Intensive Care Unit Research, and Deputy Director Intensive Care Unit at The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

He also holds a part-time Clinician Fellowship with the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and honorary positions as an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne and University of Adelaide.
