Dr Cara Tannenbaum is a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the Université de Montreal. Cara works with researchers, governments, universities and stakeholders interested in gender, sex and health research to set priorities, identify implementation opportunities, build partnerships and translate research evidence to improve the health of all. As well as being a former Scientific Director of the Canadian Institute of Health Research-Institute of Gender and Health, Cara served as the Departmental Science Advisor to Health in Canada and has advised the European Commission, the U.S. National Institutes of Health, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on policy implementation. Cara was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada in recognition for her work in drug safety, women's health and sex and gender science.
