Vision Impairment Balance and Mobility (VISIBILITY)
This study was designed to determine whether the Alexander Technique could improve physical functioning in older adults with visual impairments to reduce the physical risk of falls in this vulnerable demographic.
The study was a randomized controlled trial with equal numbers in the intervention and control groups (n =120). The control group received usual care from Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and the intervention group received weekly lessons in the Alexander Technique for 12 weeks and usual care.
