Research is critical to the health of Australians, but one of the most difficult things about conducting research is finding the right participants. This makes it harder to answer important research questions.
The Join Us register will help to solve this problem.
The Join Us register recruits large numbers of people to address our nation’s health needs, starting with COVID-19 prevention and treatment.
Participants consent to allowing the register to securely link their personal information to other health information such as that collected from hospital visits or when medications are prescribed. This enables the register to match participants to studies they are eligible for.
Opting in will help our world class researchers find answers to medical challenges facing us all – preventing disease, and finding cures and treatments that can benefit ourselves, our families, neighbours and even those we don’t know.
It will boost research capability in Australia as well as having long term economic benefits by attracting international studies.
Information for participants
It takes less than 15 minutes to sign up. All adults (18 years and over) living in Australia can join. Participants can be healthy or have a health condition, including those who currently have or who haven't recovered from COVID-19.

If you are a researcher and would like to use the Join Us register to help you recruit participants for your study, or to access de-identified data held by the register you should complete an initial proposal and then submit an application form.
